Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Inspired watching people run the London Marathon in April I decided to get off my lazy behind, get fit and hopefully complete all 26 miles of the Inverness Marathon on the 3rd Oct this year. A lovely extra is being hopefully able to raise a few pennies for a couple of worthwhile causes.

I'm delighted to say I managed to complete all 26.2 miles in a time of 4 hour 16 mins finishing 1259th of over 3000 so all in all not a bad result for an old bloke.

I ran in memory of 2 people, my Mum Olive who passed away in 1998 and my work colleague Big Dave (Blyth) who sadly passed away earlier this year.

I decided to split any money I raise between 2 charities; the MacMillan Cancer Support who provided a great deal of care and support to Mum during her battle with cancer and to CCLASP  an Edinburgh based childrens charity who provide care and support to children with Leukaemia and cancer. This charity was nominated by Dave's wife Cath.

Anything you give, no matter how small is extremely appreciated.

thanks

Alan
