The Brighton 50 · 26 September 2009

At least 2 million children in the UK are struggling to talk and understand words.  We give children and young people the skills they need so they aren't left behind. We do this by creating tools for schools and nurseries, giving advice and guidance to families and putting pressure on politicians.

Story

Dear Sponsor,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On Saturday 26th September I am riding 50 miles which will support the brilliant work of I CAN, the children's communication charity.

Guess my time to complete the 50 miles and eneter the draw to win a £25.00 Amazon voucher! Please enter the time that you think it will take me to cycle 50 miles in the message part of the Justgiving page.

Just about everything children and young people learn and achieve depends on their ability to communicate; that includes literacy, numeracy, and making friends as well as passing exams and getting a job later in life. I CAN supports children at all ages and stages across the four nations.

Your sponsorship will directly influence the chances of the vast number of children and young people who struggle to communicate. Funds raised by I CAN go to a range of activities - Materials and support for parents, Training of the children's workforce to help them identify and support childrem with communication needs, two specialist schools for children with long term and complex communication needs, plus a wide range of activities that secure public sector funds and influence to support children of all ages with their communication needs. For further information visit www.ican.org.uk .

Please do be generous with your sponsorship as every penny will make a difference to a child somewhere.

Many thanks. Alan.
