Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Running in memory of my dear mum Margaret.

Every minute of every day, someone is being cared for by a Marie Curie Nurse. Alan Shand wrote to the charity to share his experience of the tremendous care his late mother Margaret Shand received from local Marie Curie Nurses. He said: “The grace and dedication afforded to our lovely mum was extraordinary. Mum certainly knew she was being called home, and all the little things you gave her made that time even more special. “The warm greetings, joy, laughter, tears, tenderness, confidences,,consistency, comfort, companionship, humour, cosy chats by the fire, basic personal care and hygiene, feeding, fluids, medication and sincerity shown by every act and deed throughout every single night shift, meant Mum felt safe and comfortable. “To each Marie Curie Nurse personally – Jane Smith, Sheila Phillips, Evelyn Morrison, Cathy Donegan, Jo Fraser, Karen Gordon, Kathryn Clark, Christina Gillies, Myra Ross and Arthur Fraser – thank you for giving your time, enabling Mum to live her end of life in the most dignified manner possible.”

My personal goal is to raise £6,000.00, please help me do this and be aware that these lovely people are indeed here to help us all !!   nursing care costs :

£20 - Pays for a Marie Curie Nurse for one hour in the home.

£30 - Buys a slide sheet used by Marie Curie Nurses to move patients in bed.

£125 - Would pay for attendance at a Day Therapy unit for one day in a Marie Curie hospice.

£160 - Pays for a full shift for a Marie Curie Nurse in the patient's home. (my Mum)
