Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm proud to announce this is the second L2B ride I've done for APF in memory of Bob Mason, who died on August 4th 2018, Bob died of IPF.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a type of terminal lung
disease characterised by a progressive and irreversible decline in lung
function. IPF scars your lungs and so reduces the efficiency of your
breathing. The cause is unknown.

About 5 million people are affected globally. The British Lung Foundation suggests about 6,000 people are diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) every year in the UK.  Average life expectancy following diagnosis is about four years.

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis was founded in 2013 by patients, family members & IPF specialists and focuses on improving the quality of life for patients with pulmonary fibrosis and funding research.

We've joined together to raise money for APF and your donation can really help this small charity deliver critical support to the most needy.  Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

About the charity
