Aleem's Yemen Cholera Appeal 2017

Aleem Husain Yemen Cholera Appeal 2017 · 12 November 2017
Firstly, a massive thanks just for clicking and taking a look at my page!
I hope after you've read this, you're eager to donate as much as you can :)
Diarrhoea is one of the most painful experiences I have had the displeasure of having. The constant stomach cramps and the inability to do anything else but wait till your next bathroom visit. I had the luxury of being able to cope with all my needs available- a bathroom, a bed and the GP not too far from home.
But our brothers and sisters in Yemen have a much different story to tell.
The constant bombing and violence has resulted in loss of infrastructure, hospitals and essential support services. In this environment diseases such as cholera can surface. Cholera is a disease primarily resulting from poor sanitation and unclean water sources. It results in diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps. All this can quickly lead to fluid loss from the body and result in death, if not treated promptly. A cholera epidemic since March of this year has resulted in the loss of more than 2000 Yemeni lives, around half of them children with predictions expecting 1 million cases of the disease this month.
So what can we do? The management of cholera patients can be effective provided the people have adequate supplies of rehydration and appropriate sanitation. Human Appeal are distributing emergency packages containing essentials like food, clean water and medical supplies. Your donation will enable them to reach as many people as possible.
By the will of God, I will be climbing Pen-y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales to raise money for our Yemeni brothers and sisters in humanity. I hope you will join me in supporting them.
Remember all those suffering in your prayers,
Aleem
