Great Manchester Cycle 2012 · 4 June 2012 ·

We aim to help cancer sufferers, whose inpatient treatment requires them to spend long periods in hospitals in the W. Midlands, take a short break/holiday when they are not receiving treatment by offering to pay certain overnight & travel costs if the patient or their family are in financial need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In December 2010 a good friend of mine, Ian Edwards, lost his courageous 10 month long battle against lymphoma, sadly passing away a few months short of his 30th birthday.

Like all patients suffering from a blood cancer, Ian had to spend much of his precious time in hospital having intensive chemotherapy to try and destroy his cancer cells. What helped make this bearable was that he was able to get away on mini-breaks with his family whenever the opportunity presented itself, sometimes at less than 24 hours notice. These trips away to the countryside gave him and his parents real enjoyment and are still a source of comfort now Ian is no longer alive. Unfortunately not all cancer sufferers & their families or carers can afford to take such breaks and with this in mind this charity in Ian’s name was created.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Dean xxxx
