On Friday 22 June I will be taking part in the Big Walk 2018. I will be walking/ running 26.2 miles to raise funds for the Sheffield Scanner,
a ground-breaking MRI-PET facility in Sheffield which will transform our understanding of serious and debilitating conditions and the way we treat them in the future.

For almost 10 years I suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which for long periods left me struggling to walk more than a few steps. Over the last year or so, I have built my fitness up to the point where I can run 10k and have completed a couple of 15 mile walks. The Big Walk- a marathon- will be my biggest physical challenge so far but I'm determined to give it a go. 

This is my first attempt at fundraising so I have set a modest target of £200.
