This year i am once again participating in the UK forum all stars charity tournament. This event is for those who love the game of hockey to come together once a year to raise lots of money for charity.There are a number of teams which compete who each represent a specific charity and they raise money on behalf of their chosen charity.

This year i am honored to be representing the Sheffield Children’s hospital. For me this is a very special charity, whilst i do not have a direct affiliation with the Sheffield hospital I do have a very personal story that shows the great work that children’s hospitals do.

I am a father of 3 as most of you will know to Ethan (10) Miles (7) and Kiera (5). when Miles and Kiera were weeks old they became very ill and had to go into hospital. After numerous tests it transpired that they both had a very rare condition called Pyloric Stenosis which is an over developed muscle going into their tummy. This meant that they were not able to consume their food and they subsequently would lose weight.

Now the great news is that they both received surgery and now live happy and full lives but what struck me about their situation was the care and dedication showed by the staff, The professionalism and skill of the doctors and the care of all the nurses at the hospital. This made one of the most worrying times of our lives more bearable and clear and for that I am incredibly grateful.

This is why its great for me that i can try and give something back to a fantastic cause. so please give anything you can to make a difference to other people just like us.
