Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 5th June 2010 at 7am I will be commencing the Kona half-ironman 70.3 event.
This involves a 1.2mile swim, 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run to finish it/me off. Hence 70.3 miles.
My entry to the Kona, Hawaii half-ironman will not only be an intense personal challenge but also has provided an opportunity to raise some sponsorship money for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's New Zealand which may in some small way help in the understanding of this condition and those who suffer from it.
Parkinson's disease has profoundly affected my family and a number of my family's friends and although currently no cure has been found, progress is steadily being made and in time treatments will improve.
Please could you sponsor me?
Any donations made to this webpage will go to Parkinson's UK.
A separate webpage is being set up for Parkinson's New Zealand.

.Dear Supporters,
Thank you all so much for your generous donations, it is really appreciated.
I have completed the race on Saturday in a time of 6hours and 9 minutes.
It was a real challenge in the heat but very enjoyable to finish the distance
to a great atmosphere in Hawaii. The only ill-effect sore muscles and a few blisters.
Thanks again and thank you to those who still wish to donate, it is all much appreciated.
Alex
