LONDON BRIGHTON CHALLENGE

25 - 26 MAY 2013

This will be my most testing and gruelling fundraiser to date. 100km (62.1371 miles) from London to Brighton, walking through all terraines, almost non-stop until completion. This can take up to 30 hours! My training will start in the next couple of weeks so watch this space for updates! Please read on for details of my chosen charity and why I have chosen it. Thanks, Alex.

Our daughter Amelia has Cerebral Palsy and has attended the Dame Vera Lynn Trust's School for Parents since she was 3 years old.

They have taught Amelia essential day to day skills and helped her gain confidence and independance. As a family we have been fully supported by the staff, we have other parents to talk to that are going through the same struggles as us and we have made some great friends too.

The emphasis on School for Parents is to provide strong practical support for all parents who have children with special needs within a mutually sympathetic and encouraging environment.

All the services they offer are provided free of charge.  They receive no statutory funding and rely entirely on the support of the community to raise the £660,000 needed this year to ensure that this vital and much needed service can continue. More details about the charity and their work can be found at: www.dvltrust.org.uk

Please, please, please support and donate to this charity as it really does change childrens and their families lives. Thank you. x
