What were YOU doing in the early hours of New Year’s Day 2009?Whilst enjoying the rosy glow that alcohol often brings, we decided to set ourselves a challenge ... but what to do? Alex had just abandoned her Christmas Day cross channel swim, Rob was coming to terms with the failure of his application to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and Anna was slowly recovering from her experience on the big red balls of Total Wipeout!
So who is to blame for what followed................? Alex! It was 'decided' that all three of us should enter into the ballot for the 2009 BUPA Great North Run, (whilst secretly hoping that we would not be selected!). Fast forward nine months and September is fast approaching. We are lean, fit and raring to go in aid of our chosen cause!!! [Two thirds of this last statement does not apply to Rob - check out the Italics just incase you're unsure.]
A charity close to our hearts is Kidney Research UK. Their mission is to fund life-saving research into kidney disease, to improve the quality of life of those with kidney disorders and to increase public awareness of kidney health. Some of you may be aware that Josh, (Alex and Rob’s 8 year old son), was diagnosed with nephritis at the age of 2. Since then there have been numerous hospital stays and he remains on permanent medication, despite which he is a happy and active little boy. We hope that by raising funds for research more answers will become available for this condition. Please see the link on our page to find out more about Kidney Research.
