Training updates

 11th September 2011

Bristol half done, managed it in 2hrs 21 mins - although that was with three toilet stops (not all mine!!) lol...

Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, and who came down on the day to support the runners......

This page is open until March 2012, when I will be running the Bath half marathon - so if you didn't get round to sponsoring me for this event, don't worry there is still time!!

I am going to have a good week off from training now!! More updates towards March next year. xxxx

4th September 2011

Did my last long run today, managed just shy of 10 miles in 1hour 40 mins...

That is it now, apart from 2 small run's this week - and then Race day on Sunday!!!!

For those of you who are around, I will see you at the finish line and then at the Pitcher & Piano at 12pm for some much needed refreshments....

 29th August 2011

My sister and I mapped out a little run in Nailsea, and did 9.7 miles in 1hour 35 mins....

I had tears in my eyes at one point, and I think my sister had a stitch for the last 3 miles but nevertheless we carried on...., although not quite looking as gazelle like as we had hoped... Glad I don't know anyone in Nailea lol...

26th August 2011

Ran the portway part of the half marathon last Sunday - 9 miles in 90 mins.

This week I have managed a few shorter runs in the evenings, and I am planning a 10 mile run this Monday.

17th August 2011

Well I have started training again (in a slow way).... I have managed to do 2 small run's this week, and I am going to try a LD one on the weekend. As long as my coccyx pain remains manageable, I will continue training and take part in the Bristol and now Bath half marathon's.

BATH HALF 2012 - ENTERED!!!

14th August 2011

Hi Guys,

Due to a recent injury I have had to withdraw from the Bristol half, as I won't be recovered in time to run.... However I am now entered in the Bath Half Marathon which takes place in March 2012, by which time I will be fully fit.  I have extended this page so people can donate up until the end of March next year...

As you can imagine I am very disappointed not to be taking part in this year's race, but will be raising money for the same great cause by runing next year in Bath.

All donations made so far, will go to Cancer research UK in support of my new event.

If my injury heals in time, then I will continue with my entry for the Bristol half, and then also compete in the Bath half next year..

7th August

First 10 mile training run done today, I managed to do it in 1 hour and 20 mins (although that was on a running machine, as it was raining cats & dogs outside).... Mentally I feel very positive now I have done the 10 mile distance - only 3 little miles on top to do! xx

Who I am raising money for

I am raising money in aid of Cancer Research in memory of my friend Charlie who lost her fight to cancer earlier this year.

Charlie was the warmest and most upbeat person I have ever met, and she is missed by everyone who knew her.

Any donations are much appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance, Alex
