Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2018 · 28 July 2018 to 29 July 2018 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

When you are young and you see the people you love affected by a horrible illness it affects you and scares you. I was a young child when my Grandma Barbara Yates suffered a stroke which greatly affected her speech and mobility. She was a lovely lady who would do anything for anybody and the stroke really sent her downhill and unfortunately she passed away not long after.

10 years later and her husband John Yates (my Grandad) also had a series of mini-strokes. Whilst he tried his best to recover from these he sadly suffered another stroke and his condition deteriorated in hospital and he sadly passed away.

For two family members to suffer with this illness was horrendous and really affected me at the time, as I idolized my Grandparents. Hopefully your donations will go someway to helping to find a prevention and better knowledge and support for those affected.

To show you what this cause means to me I will running the FULL Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2018 course.

Thank you for your donations.
