Thank you for taking the time to visit my Marathon page. As you may know I am running the 2010 London Marathon in April for the University of Bristol Cancer Research Fund.

The Cancer Research Fund awards pump-priming grants to cancer researchers to buy laboratory consumables or small pieces of equipment.  These grants give university researchers the opportunity to work towards the crucial preliminary results that will enable them to gain larger project grants from the major medical research funding bodies.

 

The results of this type of research can have national and international implications in the fight against cancer, but progress with prevention, causation and treatment of the vast numbers of cancers can only continue by supporting those researchers with the knowledge and skill.

I am training hard and hope to complete the Marathon in under 3.5 hours.
