Brighton Half Marathon 2011 · 20 February 2011 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello everyone!!

Here's a little explanation on my insanity:

One depressing week back in October 2010, sitting for hours on end at my desk, I decided I needed a challenge.

Sooo.. I insanely signed up for the Brighton AND Bath half marathons which take place in Feb and March 2011.. just 2 weeks apart! Oops.. It's done.. no backing out now!

I felt something this nuts should have some purpose. And what better reason to do something as crazy as this than for a charity:

*queue heartfelt music.. *

Like myself, I'm sure a lot of you know people who have been affected by a stroke; whether it be people affected directly or those who are there to care for them. We know how drastically it can change people's lives and how sufferers appreciate all the help they can receive.

Stroke is the third biggest killer in the UK, and one which does not receive near enough attention or funding as it needs.

This being said, I will be running this 26.2 miles (in total) on behalf of The Stroke Association, which is instrumental in providing funding for research into stroke and providing care for those affected.

Please help me do my bit by sponsoring my crazy challenge!!
