Asics British 10K London Run 2011 · 10 July 2011 ·

1 in 100 people have coeliac disease, yet only 36% are diagnosed. Coeliac UK empowers everyone affected, breaking down barriers, improving everyday life, offering trusted support and advancing research towards a cure. And we do it all so that one day, no one’s life will be limited by gluten.

Story

I am running the Asics British 10k run in July to raise money for Coeliac UK. Coeliac disease is an auto-immune disease, a lifelong genetic condition with no cure other than a gluten-free diet. The charity raise awareness for the condition which is often misunderstood. They also help people who have been newly diagnosed manage what can often be a tricky change in diet and lifestyle, and help fund research into possible cures in the future.

As someone newly diagnosed I thought I would raise a bit of cash to help ease the difficulties for others with coeliac disease - plus it's a good excuse to go running on a sunny day!

Many thanks for your kind donation.
