Story
Over the years I've sponsored lots of friends doing amazing feats, however I've never personally taken up the challenge until now. I have signed up along with a group of work mates for the London 2 Paris 2016 bike challenge to raise money for Cure Leukaemia. This is a fantastic charity which raises money to fund research into finding new effective treatments for leukaemia and other cancers of the blood - a truly awful disease which effects over 34,000 and kills nearly 12,000 people every year in the UK.
The event starts on the morning of Thursday 19th May from Greenwich Park, London and finishes 4 days (and 500km) later in Paris. For the last few months I have put myself through a vigorous training regime which has involved cycling through whatever the Scottish winter could throw at me (including battling against gale force winds and floods, and walking home for miles in the sleet after multiple punctures), pushing through knee and back ailments and enduring a nutritional programme devised by Charlotte which includes lots of foul tasting protein powders, dubious green vegetable shakes and a ban on puddings – I don’t know which was worse!
I’d be really grateful if you would help me reach my fundraising target by donating what you can to this worthy cause.
