Hi Folks,
1st of All I must say ' ALLELUIA!' as I finished at 5hrs 45 mins.

What a day! I was a bit apprehensive at the start as I'd only prepared for a half marathon but I heard a voice tell me to pace myself and I'd be ok! With my fatigue issues I was trusting in the Lord !
I was amazed at the local support and it definately made the differenace having your name printed on your top and if you want even more support make sure you run near the crowd.........I know I did !!
They also gave out lots of food and sweets. I had a few pit stops in some of the pubs on route to save time queing up for the portaloo.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Gospel choir singing at mile 23 where I got to Praise God which lifted my spirt and also definately changed the atmosphere. I was then able to run to the end. However I didn't take enough water for worshiping and running....But the Lord made a way!
However after completing the Marathon I had a few complications with my health, mainly dehydration and overheating from the baking sun and feeling like jelly and Fatigue was also playing its part. Now I know what it feels like to walk like a penguin? ( I've never exherted my body like this before........LOL! )
I will only do this again if God wants me to.....LOL!, and if so I will prepare properly next time. I encourage anyone who has never run a marathon to do so as I now have an ' overcoming ' point of reference and I can no longer procrastinate!!
Many Thanks
Alexander
