Alexandra Huelstrunk is raising money for Vodafone Foundation
Story
Hello everyone,
As some of you may know - and for others this will probably come as a surprise (it was definitely a surprise for me) - I will be running the Vodafone Big Half-Marathon 2017 on Sunday 5th March in Malta to help raise money for the Vodafone Foundation.
In order to achieve my target of raising €750 I need your support with any donations you can sponsor me with! :)
The campaign selected for this Marathon is "Choose Love" which aims to raise money to support refugees. Globally, 65.3 million people are currently displaced from their homes due to conflict or natural disaster. Among them, 21.3 million people are living as refugees in other countries.
Money raised will go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) & Europe's largest grassroots distributor for aid, Help Refugees. UNHCR & Help Refugees play a critical role in supporting both the immediate and long term needs of those who are displaced. In partnership with UNHCR money raised will allow us to continue to enable young refugees to access a quality digital education through our Instant Network Schools in both Africa and Greece. Working with Help Refugees we want to provide food, shelter and access to information for refugees across Europe.
Running this half-marathon is definitely a challenge for me and something I would have never imagined doing - but knowing I will be contributing to such a good cause, helps me work towards it and I will do my best in achieving it.
My target is not only to complete my first half-marathon, but also to raise €750 for "Choose Love" campaign. Therefore, I will be deeply thankful for any contribution you could donate to my JustGiving page.
