In April of this year I am planning to go to India to spend a month working in Calcutta with a charity called the Hope Foundation. The Hope Foundation is focused solely on the welfare of the children who live on the streets in Calcutta. It goes to tremendous lengths to help give these children back their childhoods. Many of these children have experienced the most horrific things one could ever imagine, including problems with drug addiction, sex trafficking and child labour, as well as many who have been orphaned or abandoned. The Foundation funds over sixty projects in health care, education, vocational training, drug rehabilitation and child protection.
My fundraising target is £1800 and all of the money raised will go directly to the charity and the children in Calcutta. One of the ways I plan to raise some of this money is by doing a sponsored run in Paris on the 28th February 2010. I am planning to do a 10 mile run through the streets of Paris. I would be so grateful for any donations, large or small, and can assure you that your money will go a very long way to help some of the most desperate yet deserving children in the world. Thank you so very much.
