In case you haven't done the good gesture of the year yet and the Easter bunny has touched you, I would certainly appreciate your efforts to help me raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital as I embark on a cycling challenge from London to Paris on the 7th of May.

Being a competent everyday cyclist to and from work gave me the initial misguided confidence to take on this challenge which soon evaporated after me realising how much infact 300 miles were! However, knowing that every pedal is for the 220,000 sick children helped by GOSH every year, I'm motivated to bring my new commitment to fitness together with a great cause.
To demonstrate my efforts, I would like to share one of my very first underwhelming long distance cycling experiences. I ventured to Richmond on an unusually sunny day and after having arrived there and having successfully completed two laps, I realized that not only did I not have food with me but I had also left my wallet at home. To top it all off I hadn't any strength to return back home. Scrutinizing my bag thoroughly, I managed to find a pound coin and used it to buy a pack of digestive biscuits that was on discount. It was probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had and I don’t think I've appreciated the value of £1 as much ever before.
Hope these experiences (that are unworthy of sharing) as well as the intensive trainings that I underwent in the last 3 months would bring some positive results. If you've also learnt not to underestimate the power of a pound and would like to 'spur me on' then please follow the link below where donations can me made - because every pound counts J
