<p>&nbsp;</p> <p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">It&rsquo;s time to step it up a gear now, and had a bit of luck on my side managed to secure a place through the ballot for the <strong>Virgin London Marathon 2012, </strong>and I won&rsquo;t be alone (not including the other 35 thousand people) my running partner for this will be <strong>Jamie Tulloch. Our aim is to complete in under 4 hours </strong>(this could hurt....... a lot! lol), particularly for Jay as he is only just starting to recover from torn ligaments in his ankle!</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Again all money donated will be going to Lingen Davies Cancer charity, based in Shrewsbury, nice local charity. Unfortunately we all know someone who may be suffering from/have suffered, or lost someone close to cancer (wish it wasn't the case).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">My reason for choosing this charity, is that they are behind the excellent services and care that my mother received whilst undergoing chemotherapy up at Shrewsbury hospital, she always spoke very highly of the care &amp; friendliness from the staff, they made what can only be described as a nasty thing to undergo (to say the least!) as pleasant as possible for my mum, whilst keeping her spirits high. &nbsp;I can never thank them enough for the work that they do. <span>&nbsp;</span><span>&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Funds that we raise here will go on to help maintain the high standards, and go towards new equipment. They recently hit their target of 3.2 million raised to build a new wing up at Shrewsbury hospital for cancer patients, which work has already begun, and is due for completion in autumn 2012.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">They are now looking to raise approximately &pound;300,000 to furnish &amp; equip the new Cancer &amp; Haematology Centre being built at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Well, the 2011 Cardiff half marathon is behind me, completed with a personal best time, which was very pleasing, 1:40:44, knocking 5 minutes off my previous best.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Wish to say a huge thank you for all who donated to the good cause, total raised for the 2011 half marathon is an impressive and hugely grateful &pound;433.00, taking the total raised to just under &pound;800.00, thank you to all.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">If any is interested here is the link for Lingen Davies <a href="http://www.lingendavies.org.uk/main.htm">http://www.lingendavies.org.uk/main.htm</a></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Thank you very much for taking the time to read this</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Regards Alexis Jackson &amp; Jamie Tulloch</span></p>
