Story

CHALLENGE SEPTEMBER

This September I am planning on doing a different challenge every weekend. These challanges are:

Glasgow Half Marathon

Belvoir 10km

Eton Steelman (Olympic distance) Triathlon

Nottingham Half Marathon

The reason I am taking part in these events is to raise money for charity, Neuroblastoma Alliance UK.

On the 13th of September 2011 my childhood friend Cheree Sharpe's 4yr old son Alfie was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, which broke his familys heart!
Since then Alfie has been in and out of Glasgow's Yorkhill hospital getting treatment. It has been a tough year for the whole family but Alfie is a fighter and they are all determined that he will beat neuroblastoma.
To date Alfie has undergone many tests and scans and had a central line inserted, he has just finished his 13th course of chemo, lost all his hair, but he has not complained. He has taken all of the chemo and medication in his stride.
Unfortunatley the chemo is not having the desired effect and the family are having to consider other options. They are planning on taking Alfie to Germany for further treatment. However this treatment cost upwards of £80,000

Alfie is 4 years old and the bravest little boy I have ever met. People may say that I am crazy doing a different challenge every weekend, but I am fit and healthy and I cannot just sit back and do nothing while Alfie struggles.

If you can help in anyway, please give as little or as much as you can. Your donations are all greatly appreciated!
