At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Have you ever experienced a family member or close friend with cancer? If not, then we hope you never will.

WE only have to climb a mountain, while they have to climb worlds!

However, the MacMillan Trust is always there to help cancer patients, and if you think a MacMillan hospital is just “another” hospital…then stop right there!

Pete Keeping says: "This is incredibly important to me, as my step dad passed away in January 2012, from a long fight with cancer, and we were with him in a Macmillan Hospital. The only word to describe the “Family of Nurses and Doctors” at the hospital is "ANGELS", every single one of them. We have never seen a more professional and loving team, who made absolutely certain that Allan's passing was not painful. They were an inspiration".

Pedro Van Riet also knows all about Cancer. Pedro had cancer in the throat not so long ago, and he thankfully lives to tell the tale, ..... for about which we are all extremely happy, because he is OUR mate!

The ´Algarve Paddle Boarders´ is a group of (middle-aged) friends who share their love for the ocean through ´paddle surfing´. Now however, we join forces on the golf course, ..... well 4 golf courses, all on 1 day ..... walking!

And our team now has the privilege to “Give a little back”.

We are going to “suffer” 72 holes of golf in 1 day. Yes 4 rounds of golf in 1 day. Around 35Kms (perhaps 40 for some of us ... haha) of walking in perhaps 35+ degrees of heat. That’s NOTHING compared to having cancer!

And we want to raise as much money as we can to help the MacMillan Trust take care of patients with Cancer. On the 30th of June, the ´Algarve Paddle Boarders´ will take part in this spectacular fund raiser and we need ALL THE HELP we can get. Our team of 4 intrepid Paddle boarders, Mike Bosman, Scott Kemsley, Michiel Kramer and Pete Keeping along with the support of Pedro van Riet will play 72 holes of Golf in ONE DAY, all for the sole reason of raising money for the MacMillan Trust. The greenfee´s have kindly been offered by San Lorenzo, Laranjal and Pinheiros Altos.

So we would really appreciate if you could all help. The aim is to raise as much as possible for the MacMillan Trust. Can we please ask you to tell your friends, so we can get this message out that we are now in the business of asking for your support, and really need your donations. Whether it is €1.00 Euro, or a million, every cent goes to a cause that is really close to our hearts. "Give a little back" to the
Angels of Macmillan and their incredible work with cancer patients. Please help us, help MacMillan Trust.

On behalf of our team, thank you!
