Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In the year 1913 the most dynamic and progressive Muslim community was established in the UK.
In the past 100 years this passionate and magnetic community has gone from strength to strength with over 30 mosques and mission houses now established in the UK and more than 40 thousand members who preach loyalty, peace, tolerance, and respect.
The Community prides itself on having donated over £1Million to UK Charities and it's volunteers spend hundreds of man hours every year to serve their local community by donating blood, planting trees, selling Poppies for the Royal British Legion, visiting Children's Hospitals & Old People's Homes, shovelling snow and supporting flood relief.
Centenary Bicycle Ride for Peace is the flagship charity event forCentenary Celebrations of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK. The ride will be held from Sunday 1st June 2014 to Saturday 7th June 2014.
Ahmadi cyclists will start their journey from Baitur Rahman, the northerly-situated Mosque in the City of Glasgow, and will cycle seven days to reach the largest mosque in the Western Europe, the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London. This will constitute a total journey of 601 miles over seven days.
Along the way the cyclists will visit 10 iconic mosques of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community while offering thanks to Allah for the remarkable progress of this peaceful community.
