Story
when the going gets tough ................ the help just keeps on coming !
When diagnosed with cancer in 2008, the doctors "threw everything in the book" at me, to give me the best possible chance of survival. Faced with over a year of really aggressive treatment and surgery, I can honestly say, that, when the going got tough - the help just kept on coming!
There are so many people and small organisations who were there to help me - it is hard to adequately explain their significance. These organisations are not the big cancer charities, nor are they funded by the NHS.
2010 has been a year of triumphs for me - I'm now one year post treatment finish, I've returned to work, I've started running again and, most importantly, I've had lots of great times with my family and friends.
I've set myself the personal challenge of running the Cardiff half-marathon on Sunday October 17th - 13.1 miles, 21Km - which is 20,750 metres more than I could walk during the worst of my chemo - so its been a real journey.
Please help me to give something back, to those who helped me through. I totally understand that everyone has different ways of giving and many people to support - if however you felt that you would like to sponsor me in my challenge, then please donate - I'd be very grateful and every single penny makes a real difference to people struggling with cancer.
