My story
I am running the London marathon in April 2012 on behalf on LOROS - a hospice based in Leicestershire.
In 2010, my sister spent 15 days in the care of LOROS before she passed away at the age of 36. The care she received during that time was incredible and my family will be forever indebted to the organisation.
LOROS charges no fees for its services, but is only partly funded by public funds. The organisation relies on charitable donations to fund around half of its operations. The cost of care at LOROS is roughly £500 a day. I would therefore like to raise enough money for LOROS to be able to give another family 15 days of care.

LOROS provides specialised palliative care for terminally ill patients and their families along with a wide range of vital supporting services, free of charge. LOROS strives to improve quality of life by alleviating stress and pain and providing for the specific needs of the individual. Physical, emotional and spiritual support is given to patients and their families.
