On Sunday I ran the Inverness Half Marathon Plus, which involved an 8 mile warm up at race pace followed by a 1hr 42m half marathon. I now remember what hitting the wall feels like. Next time I should run a but slower and eat more food....

That was my first Marathon and I loved it so much I applied again for a place in the London Marathon 2012. (and if I'm honest it was partly because I missed my target time of 3hr 30min by only 4min!) Well, luck was on my side and I got my 'YES' letter twice in a row which is an achievement in itself. </span></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: black; font-size: 10pt;"><br style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: #ffffff;"><span style="background: white;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: #ffffff;">When I first got my place I wasn't sure if I was going to run it in 2012 due to the minor fact that I'm getting married the weekend before the marathon. However on 23rd October last year I got the shock of my life when my Mum had a massive and almost fatal Stroke. This reminded me that life is too short and fragile, so as I'm healthy I might as well give it another go...and raise a bit more cash in the process.</span></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: black; font-size: 10pt;"><br style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: #ffffff;"><span style="background: white;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: #ffffff;">Despite my Mum being a medical miracle and making an almost full recovery after only 3 month, we realise that not everyone is so lucky. So after talking to my family I have decided to run for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.</span></span></span></p> <p><span style="background-color: #ffffff; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; background: white; color: black; font-size: 10pt;">So please donate and help push me through the streets of London for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, and more importantly help the many people that face a far bigger challenge that doesn't end after 26 miles or 210 minutes....</span></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: black; font-size: 10pt;">Remember whatever you donate, Johnson & Johnson will match you, so doubling everything I raise on JustGiving.</span></strong></span></p> <p> </p>
