Story
At some point between 3am and 4:45am on 1st Jan this year Ali and Ed decided it would be a good idea to sacrifice the majority of their summer and give up a perfectly good weekend in July to trudge up to the highlands and swim 0.8 miles, run 15 miles, kayak 7 miles and cycle 34 miles, all in one go.
For the benefit of the sane of you for whom this combination of tasks does not ring a bell, the event is the Kindrochit Challenge - an annual challenge in, above and around Loch Tay in aid of the Mercy Corps. The quadrathlon is done in pairs and both team members have to cross the finish line - so you not only have to make sure you finish, but also have to ensure your team mate isn't passed out on top of a munro.
The Mercy Corps is an international development charity that works in over 40 countries worldwide helping people to turn the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress.
So if you have any sympathy for either Ali or Ed please dig deep!
