Alice Wood is raising money for Girlguiding Surrey West
“Alice Wood's fundraising”

Girlguiding Surrey West gives girls aged 4-18 the chance to grow in confidence, try new challenges, and discover what they can achieve. Alongside unit activities, the county’s two campsites, Herons Wey and Paxmead, provide adventurous outdoor experiences to build new skills, and have fun.

Story

We are a group of girlguides and leaders and we ARE swimming the cold, murky English Channel as a relay of six. This is a huge challenge and as someone pointed out to me the other day my feet won't be able to touch the bottom! The swim is to mark the 100th birthday of Girlguiding UK but we also hope that by working towards this challenge we will inspire guides and other young girls to aim high and know the sky is the limit. This challenge will also hopefully raise the profile of guiding amongst those not involved. On the day of the swim we are raising money in aid of Street Child Africa.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and remember more people have climbed Everest than have ever swum the Channel. This, I think, highlights just how huge a task this is!
