It started with an email requesting particpants for a corporate team, followed by a bit of peer pressure.

I am one of 34 volunteers, ranging from the experienced runner to first-timers such as myself.

I know that I won't be finishing in any sort of style or grace, nor in a respectable time. However I am running for a cause and love a good challenge (although I may have over-estimated myself this time!)

My cause is Save the Rhino International. Rhinos are being poached daily across Southern Africa for their horns and as a result are endangered. In 2012 745 Rhinos were killed across Africa, one every 12 hours. Most of which were in South Africa.

Please join my plight to save these beasts and donate to my cause. I'm running 21.1km (13.1 miles) - surely that is worth a few of bucks.
