vyners three peaks challange · 26 June 2015
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Luke Camplin, Dale Bayliss and myself are planning to take part in Vyners three peak challenge this coming weekend the 27th to 29th June 2015. This involves climbing 3 of the highest peaks in the U.K. over 3 days!. Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scarfell Pike ( England ) and Snowdon (Wales). Although Dale and Luke are planning to climb all three, I am just attempting Ben Nevis as I have discovered a problem with my knees but will join them if i can. We will also be driving the huge amount of miles between each mountain. We would be so grateful for your support in helping us to raise money for two charities.
We are splitting funds raised between The Friends Of Vyners School and Asthma UK. Sadly, a family has recently lost their oldest son to an acute asthma attack while he was away at University. His younger brother still attends Vyners School. Asthma, despite often being overlooked, can be a serious condition. Since starting to support these charities, we have learnt that three people die a day due to asthma, and Asthma UK funds research into helping sufferers manage their conditions. The focus of the school fundraising effort this year is to purchase 50 new Chromebooks for students to use in lessons for collaborative and independent research tasks. These Chromebooks power up in less than eight seconds as opposed to the ageing laptops that can take up to ten minutes and therefore lesson time is used much more effectively. They also provide an excellent platform for Google Classroom which is a big push for the school this year.
We can do this with your support with as little or as much as you like. Thank you ! x
