Reasons for NOT doing the London marathon
1. I'm 50 and not exactly built like a runner
2. I did it last year and it's a very, very long way!
3. I eat too much chocolate
4. I don't like asking for sponsors
Reasons for doing the London marathon
1. I'm 50 and not exactly built like a runner!
2. I did it last year and lived to tell the tale!
3. People give you chocolate on the way round - so that's good, yes?
4. I raised alot of money for Ovacome and would like to do the same again!
When I did the London Marathon last year most people thought I was mad.
This year, to do it again, I know I definately am mad!!!
I managed to get a place running for Ovacome which is a UK wide support network which provides information and support for those affected by Ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the 4th most common cancer affecting women in the UK and I want to run again in memory of my sister in law, Philie, who sadly died from the disease in March 2008.
Last year you were so generous and we raised a fantastic amount for this worthwhile charity. It was a real encouragement to me to have your support and it would be great to have your support again this year.
Any amount, big or small would be truly appreciated and will definately help raise the profile of Ovacome and raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer. So thank you all so much - roll on 25th April!!
