My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 3rd September I took part in an epic 600 mile mountain bike ride across 'the forbidden land', on road and off road, taking in Kathmandu, Lhasa, and the north face of Everest, 5 x 5000m+ passes, and an unrivalled 4000m descent into Nepal! - described as a 'do before you die' ride :-)
I have been an outpatient with the Royal Marsden for the last 5 years and will remain with them for another 5 years. During all this time, they have been absolutely wonderful to me and I wanted this chance to repay them a little of what they have given to me. A chance to say 'thank you' and to help them continue with their world renowned Cancer Research programme.
Cancer affects many people of all ages and races and strikes when we least expect it to. For many, it is a very sad story but for many more, those who survive like me, it serves to remind us of how precious life is and without the continuing research into this disease, it would be a sad story for most.
I know that I have a mammoth task ahead of me and the challenge especially with the altitude involved, will be enormous for me. But, challenges are what life is all about. Be they large or small, we all face them and we can all succeed too.
Please donate generously for this very worthwhile cause. 100% of what I collect will go to the Charity - none of it will sponsor my expenses which at the moment, are running around £5k!. :-)
Help the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign help those who face the enormous challenges that Cancer puts before them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now :-)
UPDATES
BBC Radio Oxford have just interviewed me LIVE !! You can listen to the Edited Version on the link below... if I can make a complete a** of myself then it's surely worth a couple of pounds donation yes? :-)
