Story

I did it! Every muscle was aching the morning after, even those I'd forgotten I had, but it's been worth it.

It took me 3 1/2 hours to complete the 13.1 mile walk. The thought of a sausage butty at the finish post and all the money I was raising, as well as good company, kept me going! Photos from the night now uploaded. The total pledged was over £197,000, and with your help, including the gift aid, I've raised over £500 for St Catherine’s Hospice altogether, so huge thanks to everyone who has supported me so far. It's not too late if you haven't yet sponsored me!

The Hospice has to raise around £4.1million pounds a year to continue its work supporting patients and their families, of which £2.9million has to be raised by voluntary fundraising. That support might involve symptom control, emotional support, diversional activities, arranging practical help, offering advice or just providing a listening ear. They'd really appreciate your help with this, their 25th anniversary year. Any amount you feel able to contribute, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.

Please dig deep and donate for St Catherine’s Hospice now. Your support will keep me walking through the night! Thank you.

Your sponsorship money can help to provide the following:

£275 pays for an inpatient bed for a day

£80 covers complimentary therapies eg: reflexology, aromatherapy & hairdressing for Day Therapy patients for a day

£288 covers the cost of transport for Day Therapy patients per day

£100 is the cost for a patient to attend the Lymphoedema clinic
