As you will have gathered, I'm getting ready to participate in a spinathon on July 8th for Helen and Douglas House, the first children's hospice in the UK. I have been associated with Helen and Douglas house for several years and believe that the work they do is very important and valuable. 

You are probably inundated with requests for support from other friends and colleagues doing remarkable things like climbing Everest blindfolded or running a marathon as a three-legged race. My challenge is decidedly tamer than that, and my fundraising target is commensurately modest.
