Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have now completed the Reading Half Marathon, which was pretty tough as I had a knee injury. However I managed to finish it without stopping or walking and it took me 2 hours and 28 minutes. I'm so glad I managed to do it, and am so grateful for all the donations so far. I have been overwhelmed with the generosity.

I ran the Half Marathon in memory of my Aunt Alice who passed away last September. She was so much fun and so full of life. Alice was being treated for cancer. The operation to rid the cancer was successful but the aftercare was poor. She contracted MRSA in 2007 and never recovered.

I decided to raise money for MRSA Action UK whose mission is to raise public awareness and to influence Government and healthcare providers in the fight to prevent MRSA and all healthcare infections. They do this by sharing knowledge and best practice and by providing an advocacy and support service for victims who have been affected by healthcare infections.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity

This is for Alice, Mark and Emma. Thank you so much xxx
