My story

I'm Alison and I'm taking part in the 2012  Dublin to Sunderland Cycle Challenge in aid of the SAFC Foundation.

40 – 50 cyclists will take part from Tuesday 17– Sunday 22 July 2012 to raise funds for the foundation, registered charity number 1089333.

We will travel to Dublin on Tuesday 17July and the ride will officially start the following day. The route will begin in Dublin, moving North along the Irish Coast, ferry to Stranraer and then travel through Scotland, culminating with a celebratory dinner at the Stadium of Light on the evening of Sunday 22 July, by which time we will need it! The full route will be approximately 400 miles over 5 days.

Cyclists will be joined by various celebrity companions along the journey, helping to raise the profile of the event and encourage the riders.

ABOUT THE CHARITY

SAFC Foundation is the registered charity of Sunderland Football Club. The Foundation brings Sunderland Football Club into the community, using the brand to inspire, educate and involve people in their everyday lives. Working with over 40,000 children, adults and families last year on projects to improve education, promote positive and healthy choices, tackle anti-social issues and increase opportunities in sport, training and employment, SAFC aims to help communities achieve their potential.

SPONSORS

My employer, Spark Response, is my main sponsor and have been kind enough to contribute toward costs associated with the event.

I'm hoping to raise £1,500 and there are sponsortship opportunities to anyone donating £100 or more, with logo space on my cycling gear!
