36 miles in 12 hours, through the streets of London!!
Staff at the Notting Hill office of Strutt and Parker plan to walk 36 miles in 12 hours, through the streets of London on Friday 3rd March 2017 in a bid to raise money for the Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation, which is supporting Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
Starting at 10am at the Notting Hill office, we will walk 12hours, taking in the sights and sounds of the capital, whilst trying to maintain the pace, repair blisters, and stay awake!
The Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation is raising funds to support Cancer Research UK's campaign for the Francis Crick Institute, a new state of the art biomedical research institute in the heart of London.
Cancer Research UK has pledged to raise £100 million to help complete the Crick, which will see more than 1,200 scientists coming together under one roof to understand the biology of major diseases, such as cancer, which pose the greatest threat to humanity.
The Crick will be one of the world’s most important research facilities dedicated to understanding why disease develops and to find ways to treat, diagnose and cure illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, infections and neurodegenerative diseases. Dedicated to research excellence, the institute will have the scale, vision and expertise to tackle these challenging scientific questions.
Sir Paul Nurse, Nobel Prize winner and Director of the Crick has said, "if we get this right, we will change the world."
