All Hands Volunteers · 8 July 2012

We work around the world to lessen the physical and emotional impact caused by climate disasters and humanitarian crises. Through direct action, accessible volunteer engagement and strong partnerships, we support communities to respond to, recover from, and build resilience against disasters.

Story

Believe it or not, some organizations make it pretty difficult for people to get involved in volunteering programmes. All Hands is different. When I wanted to do my bit for Japan after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami, All Hands made it possible for me to give something back to a country I love. All I had to pay for was my transport to Project Tohoku, because donors covered the cost of logistics, food, lodging and tools, leaving me to focus on working hard and helping the communities of Ofunato and Rikuzentakata.

Now it is my turn to pay it forward. This way, when another person is moved to volunteer after a natural disaster All Hands will be there for them, as they were there for me.

In order to do this, I need your help. Please donate what you can, and help me pay it forward
