We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

YES WE DID IT !!!

Yeahhhh AWESOME!!!!

60 miles through the Scottish Caledonian coast to coast from Fort William to Inverness by kayaks.

This was an awesome adventure and a test in endurance, friendship and self-belief.

9 month of planning finalized in an honorable achievement.

Thank you sooo much for all the money you donated us.

It will all be used by the RNLI to keep the reliable service to help people in difficulties at sea running at its best.

Thank you from all of us from the RNLI Newhaven Lifeboat Crew and the friend of it who did with us this fantastic challenge.

Thank you

Alvaro Rodriguez

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Alvaro Rodriguez.

I am since three years a crewmember of the Newhaven Lifeboat.

We have a Severn Class boat.

It is for me a great honor to be part of the crew and the RNLI, which has the ultimate goal -> Saving Life’s at sea.

We are all volunteers and only the donations keep the RNLI running and able to save life’s.

Please help and support our cause by donating for the RNLI through my JustGiving page.

Thank you very much for every £ you can give to the RNLI.

Here is some information about our challenge and the RNLI.

The challenge: To kayak from Fort William to Inverness along the Caledonian Canal in July of this year 2013

Description

The Caledonian Canal is a distances of approximately 60 miles! We will start at Fort William on the North Atlanic and finish at Inverness on the North Sea North, taking in Loch Ness (23 miles long and up to 1.5 miles wide). We expect the challenge to take two full days.

Why: Partly as a tribute to Gavin Butcher, a volunteer crew member on the Newhaven lifeboat who lost his battle with cancer in late February and secondly to help the RNLI raise funds to enable their volunteers to operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

The team consists of 7 crew members of the Newhaven Lifeboat and 6 friends of the Newhaven Lifeboat.
