Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Mark Allen (Alvin). I'm a 30 year old Firefighter from South London. I've wanted to run the London Marathon for a number of years now but I failed to get accepted until this year.
Initially I wanted to run the marathon just for personal achievement and to tick it off my bucket list. Not really thinking about a specific charity to raise money for.
But after speaking to my partner one day about one of her friends who has a amazing 3 year old little boy called Charlie Cox. Who is undergoing lengthy treatment for a brain tumour.
Charlie along with his devoted family and friends have raised awareness and tens of thousands of pounds for Brain tumour research through their amazing organisation: Team Charlie.
I'd also like to mention that currently one of my closest friends is undergoing tests and scans for a similar condition and I'd like to wish him all the best. He is also a very big reason for me running for this charity.
Hearing Charlie's story, looking at all his pictures where even though he is a very sick lad. He is always smiling. This, along with speaking to my friend about what he is going through is what has inspired me to raise as much money as I can for the brave men woman and children suffering from brain tumours.
Thank you for reading my story. Please help me raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause.
Mark Allen. X.
