Can't really believe I'm doing this but I'm taking part in the GNR as part of a 40 strong team and students and staff from Ponteland High School. We are all raising money for our 'Run for Rachel' campaign in memory of a former student, Rachel Blaylock, who was due to run in last year's event but was tragically killed in a car accident only weeks before. The Great North Air Ambulance attended this accident and also that of another former student, Victoria Wilkinson, who died along with her father in a sailing accident some years ago. Both families chose the Air Ambulance as their charity for donations from friends and family after the tragic loss of their daughters.
