On 25 April 2010 I will be taking part in the biggest physical challenge of my life – running 26.2 miles in the London Marathon in aid of the Arthritis Research Campaign (arc).

My participation in the London Marathon will help to raise funds for www.arc.org.uk whose main aims are to raise money to fund an extensive medical research programme into the causes and cures of arthritis.

As you may know Keith (my husband) suffers with Rheumatoid Arthritis and at times it has meant that he has been severely disabled unable to continue his chosen career in IT, walk further than a few steps and on bad days bed ridden. Not great for a man who is still in his 30’s.

Thankfully our lives completely changed when Keith was given some transformational drugs in 2008 which meant that although Keith will never play tennis, run for a ball, or catch our daughter if she runs into the road he can walk again without crutches and that is fantastic.

So basically I am running 26 miles because he can’t… This charity funds the research into drugs that can quite honestly change lives. I have set myself a fundraising target of £4,000 and I would greatly appreciate your help in reaching this target.

I have started my fundraising effort with a personal donation of £100.  If you could join me with a donation you will bring me closer to my fundraising target.

Come on dig deep I would really appreciate it!
