The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I have never taken part in a group charity challenge and definitely never pushed myself to do anything like this before! I am taking part in the Wates Big Black Mountains Charity Challenge!

The Wates Big Black Mountains Charity Challenge is a national company wide hike event consisting of 24 employees tackling a 50 kilometres (31 miles) hike in under 12 hours.  The Black mountains are part of the Brecon Beacons and we will cover a total of 1,858 metres of climbing and descent, taking in 15 climbs each at 660 metres or more above sea level.

The challenge is on Friday August 12th and the target is to beat last year’s National 3 Peaks Charity Challenge which raised over £6,000.
