Well, I did it! It was 7 hours, 17 minutes and 16 seconds of sheer pain, but I got myself a medal to show for it! I did half in just over 3 hours, but then I had to go to the medical tent because I had huge blisters, my hips were killing me from about mile 15 onwards and I could barely walk by the end. I met another runner, Kelly, in mile 1 who was running the same pace as me, and we got each other round, either one of us could have given up at various times if we hadn't had each other. I ended up dedicating my last mile to her and we crossed the finish line holding hands! I'm in alot of pain still, but I feel amazing!
Just 3 days to go now until I take on what really will be my challenge of a lifetime! The other day I was asked to share my personal story with a fellow MIND runner who is giving a presentation to his church, and writing it made me realise how far I had come, so I decided to share it here too.
