Amanda's 24hr, 50 mile Thames Path Challenge

Walk the Talk, Thames Path Challenge · 2 August 2018
On 2nd August, I and other colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group, are attempting to walk 50 miles of the Thames Path from Windsor to our office in Moorgate, within 24 hours.
We are raising money for Mental Health UK who are a fantastic charity that work to improve the life of people affected by mental illness across the UK. Poor mental health affects more people every year than cancer and heart disease - every year, one in four of us in the UK are affected by mental health issues.
This will be my 2nd (and final!) challenge this year and, whilst very different to climbing Kilimanjaro, will still be a huge challenge physically and mentally.
I hope that you will be inspired by the challenge and this very good cause.
How your funds make a difference:
Mental Health UK has found that mental health problems can lead to people feeling incredibly isolated, even though millions of others across the UK are experiencing similar issues. With your support, Mental Health UK aims to set up 40 new face-to-face support groups in isolated communities across the UK, reaching more than 2,000 people.
- £10 could help pay for a Group Co-ordinator's mobile phone, so they can support people in an emergency situation.
- £50 could provide art materials to a support group, helping members relax, open up and build new friendships during art therapy sessions.
- £250 could pay for the running costs of a group for 6 months, giving members the vital long-term reassurance of support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
