Wessex Heartbeat - 2010 Tandem Skydive Challenge

Dear Friends and Colleagues.....

The ladies of the Lloyds Register, Southampton namely Michele Hazelden, Laura Satterly, Lisa Hopkins, Amanda Miles, Shelley Gregory and Natasha Ordish have decided to get out of our comfort zones and do something out of the ordinary in the name of charity!

We will be each be doing in a Tandem Skydive with the Red Devils on 27th May 2010 at Netheravon Airfield in Wiltshire, all proceeds raised will go to Wessex Heartbeat to assist with the valuable work they do in the Southampton and Hampshire area.

The challenge itself involves a freefall jump from an aircraft at 13,000 feet high, we are all feeling quite anxious about the height involved so this will be a major challenge for each and every one of us but a great achievement to raise money for a local charity!

Let me tell you a bit about the Charity itself and the valuable work it does:

Wessex Heartbeat was Established in 1992 and is one of the region's major charities and exists to support the work of the Wessex Cardiac Centre (WCC), one of the UK's leading heart treatment centres.

Since 1992 the generosity of it's supporters at all levels has enabled Wessex Heartbeat to raise over 11m which has been used to help ensure that the best possible care is provided to more than 20,000 patients treated at the centre each year.

Did you know that Cardiovascular disease causes nearly 40% of all deaths annually in the UK.

This sadly means that at some time, most of us will be affected by this disease whether it is ourselves, our loved ones or our colleagues.

Thank you for visiting our justgiving page, please dig deep so we can help to continue the support and great work of Wessex Heartbeat.
