Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been so moved by Hannah and Willberry the wonder Pony's story it has given me a much needed kick up the butt to finally put my brave pants on rather than just taking about it.

To read about Hannah Francis the brave event rider and her best firend Wilberrys story in their own words visit the page below, but have tissues ready....

https://www.willberrywonderpony.org/

I am going to be one of the Wobbleberries in the Wobbleberries Challange in aid of Hannah to help raise money for bone cancer research and Wilberry's wishes.

What is a Wobbleberry....

A shy, elusive creature, the wobbleberry's natural habitat is spectating at BE events, and supporting other riders.

Who is...

- not currently fit enough to get round a cross country course
- not currently brave enough to get round a cross country course
- old enough to know better, and know that this will hurt!
- dedicated - to raising money, to training, and conquering the fear
- supportive of each other - aiming to be weeble-esque, "we wobble, but we don't fall down".

About me...

My name is Mandy (officially Amanda) I am 30 years old,  quite unfit and the thought of doing a BE80 event frightens me to death.

I think I am on of the most nervous riders I know, I have made every excuse not to ride due to my fear and total lack of confidence. Excuses like... it's too wet, cold, windy, bright, sunny, hot. I really can turn anything into a reason not to ride, then the longer period I didn't ride the worse my confidence issues got.

I am at a point now where I can ride in the ménage by my self for a short time but would never jump alone. I have had my new horse for nearly two years and have been on about 3 hacks alone without another horse or human on foot which. To do this I have had to build my self up to for about 3 days and will only go in perfect conditions. I've never properly done any jumping but in the last year have had the occasional jumping lesson and done a previous 50cm course on my last horse, where a lot of it was done from stand still, walk or a very slow trot (lazy cob mixed with my legs not working due to fear). I have done a handful of walk and trot tests and one prelim test where I don't think I breathed the whole way round. I have done a couple of cross crontry schooling days on my previous cob where I would just the small logs on the floor. So I am an eternity away from doing a one day event.

Ponio

Dulcie or Little wings is a 15hh tbx chestnut mare who is 12 years old and has previously competed in British Eventing before coming to her retirement home with me. I know that she will be in the element, but she has a long way to go fitness wise.  But I am praying that she will look after me and help me achieve my goal.

So I ask please support me in this goalby donating to Hannahs Willberry Wonder Pony charity, which Hannah set up before her far far to early death.

Now it's time to sit up, look up and kick on and help Hannah's wishes come true!!
