At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for Alzhiemer's by taking part in a 9 miles walk from Lesbury to Broomhill which will take place on the Saturday of Easter weekend. I am keen to take part in this event in order to raise money and awareness of Alzhiemer's and Dementia as my Grandad suffered quite severly from it. It's quite a hard thing to deal with when you see someone you love slowly fade away into a stranger who no longer recognises who you are. I found living with someone and seeing first hand their rapid deterioration was incredibly heart breaking and hard to deal with. The hardest part with living with someone with Alzhiemer's is seeing how quickly it takes hold and watching day by day someone you love fade away leaving only a shell of who they once were.

Any donation giving will be very much appreciated and will go to a very good cause.
